For a longer adventure, opt for the 55-minute Covered Bridge Ride, which guides you through a real covered bridge on a back country road, spanning over five miles of peaceful Amish roads.
For a more in-depth experience, the 65-minute Amish Farm Tour is a must. During this buggy ride, you’ll have the opportunity to get out of the buggy and have your driver guide you through a barn where an Amish family works together to milk their cows. You’ll see where they store the milk and may even have the chance to meet the Amish children as you tour and witness the inner workings of an Amish farm.
Planning your visit to AAA Buggy Rides is easy, as they are conveniently located along Route 340 (Old Philadelphia Pike) in the charming town of Intercourse. The buggy rides are accessible from major metropolitan areas, including New York City (2.5-hour drive), Philadelphia (1-hour drive), Washington DC (2-hour drive), and Baltimore (1.5-hour drive). Free parking is available on-site, and riders of all ages are welcome to join in on this family-friendly experience.
To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience, remember to bring sunscreen if you are sensitive to direct sunlight, as well as a bottle of water to stay hydrated during the summer months when temperatures can reach the high 90s. The buggies are covered to protect riders from sun and rain during the tours.
AAA Buggy Rides is open Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with rides leaving every 15 minutes. No reservations are needed, as all tours are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Credit cards and cash are accepted forms of payment, and ATMs are located nearby for your convenience.
