The Pressroom: A Historic Lancaster City Dining Destination

Dating Back to the Mid-1700s

Housed in the historic Steinman Hardware Building, The Pressroom offers a unique dining experience that combines old-world charm with modern flair. The restaurant, which first opened its doors in 1995, has been a beloved fixture in downtown Lancaster for over 25 years.

The Pressroom’s dining room showcases the building’s rich history, dating back to the mid-1700s. Guests are welcomed by the warm, inviting atmosphere created by the mahogany furnishings and cozy seating options. During the warmer months, diners can enjoy their meals in the picturesque Steinman Park.

The menu at The Pressroom changes with the seasons and features an array of daily specials. From mouthwatering burgers and crispy fries to fresh salads, seafood, beef, and pork entrées, there’s something for everyone. The restaurant also offers a selection of creative sandwiches and specialty flatbreads, baked to perfection in their classic pizza oven. Be sure to save room for one of their signature desserts to end your meal on a sweet note.

Perfect Spot for a Night out With Friends

The Pressroom’s bar is the perfect spot for a night out with friends, complete with a daily happy hour. Guests can enjoy frosty draft beers, wines by the glass, and a carefully curated selection of craft cocktails.

In July 2022, Central PA-based O.N.E. Hospitality announced plans to re-open The Pressroom, ensuring that this Lancaster institution will continue to serve the community for years to come.
One of the restaurant’s most popular outdoor dining areas is the Park Bar, located in Steinman Park courtyard. This seasonal space offers a relaxing atmosphere with a 20-foot tall waterfall fountain, perfect for enjoying creative cocktails, beer, and wine. On weekends, the Park Bar transforms into a lively hangout spot for friends and family to gather and socialize.

A Truly Unique Dining Experience

For a truly unique dining experience, The Pressroom offers the exclusive Pressroom Chef’s Table, created by Executive Chef Josh Pfeiffer. This 7-course dining experience showcases the freshest seasonal ingredients in innovative ways, paired with carefully selected beverages by the house sommelier. Seating is communal yet exclusive, with up to 6 guests sharing a table.

The Pressroom also boasts a beautiful private event space called The Printers Plate, which seamlessly blends historic charm with industrial-chic styling. This versatile space is perfect for a variety of events, from rehearsal dinners and baby showers to corporate functions and networking events. With top-of-the-line audio-visual equipment, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a central location, The Printers Plate is an ideal choice for both social gatherings and business meetings.
