The Two Museums

The Demuth Museum

  A charming white brick building nestled between two tall trees, the Demuth Museum is dedicated to the life and work of Charles Demuth. It’s part of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios program, offering a glimpse into the artist’s Precisionist masterpieces and his connection to Lancaster.

Lancaster Museum of Art

• Address: 135 N. Lime Street, Lancaster, PA
  Housed in a historic brick mansion adorned with stately columns, the Lancaster Museum of Art showcases local artistry and traveling exhibitions. This museum serves as a cultural hub, fostering connections within Lancaster’s thriving art scene.

A Unified Vision

In 2014, the Demuth Museum and Lancaster Museum of Art merged under one mission: to elevate the visual arts in Lancaster. While each museum maintains its unique identity, their collaborative efforts ensure diverse, dynamic experiences for visitors. The Demuth Museum emphasizes Charles Demuth’s legacy, while the Lancaster Museum of Art highlights community-driven exhibitions.

Meet The Team Behind it All

The Demuth Foundation thrives under the guidance of a passionate team:

• Abby Baer, Executive Director – With a rich background in arts administration, Abby leads the foundation with expertise and a love for baking and gardening.
• Greta Rymar, Exhibitions & Collections Coordinator – A Lancaster native, Greta brings global art insights and a passion for charcuterie to her curatorial role.
• Sarah Keim, Communications & Programming Coordinator – Sarah’s fascination with architecture and her Penn State Art History degree fuel her dedication to museum programming.
• Abby Saurbaugh, Education & Outreach Coordinator – A Millersville alumna, Abby crafts art programs for all ages, inspiring creativity across Lancaster.
• Karen Budusky, Development & Operations Assistant – Karen’s multifaceted expertise supports the foundation’s membership and volunteer programs.
• Kate Lints, Finance & Administration Assistant – With a background in economics and restaurant management, Kate ensures the foundation’s financial health.

Our dedicated museum assistants, Danielle Parker, Skye Terry, and Lexy Schack, play vital roles in day-to-day operations.
